Building in the Arboretum Village
Lisle calls itself The Arboretum Village, and the Morton Arboretum is in the village. The village had 10,965 housing units in 2020. A town with that name makes you think about trees, and on any lot it's worth knowing early where the house sits, which trees stay and how equipment gets in. RL Builders does custom homes, additions and high end remodels in Lisle.
Frank Lello is on site every day, you get one contact, and we build only on land you own. We work out of Lemont. References and tours of finished RL homes are available on request.

Homeowners on working with Frank
Frank and his team built our dream home through COVID, and the quality has been exceptional. Years later he still checks in seasonally and stays a call or text away, which is rare and appreciated.
Julie Morris, homeownerFrank handled our kitchen renovation and we could not be happier with the final project. He was on site every day, used skilled craftsmen, and made what could have been stressful feel easy.

What to know before building in Lisle
Lisle is in DuPage County, and its Development Services department handles building plan review, permits and inspections. The same department checks zoning, stormwater and property maintenance requirements, so one office sees the whole package.
On codes, the Village adopted the 2021 International Codes and the 2020 National Electric Code in fiscal 2022-23, through amendments to Title 4. Plans need to meet those editions as Lisle amended them. Since RL is a licensed electrical contractor and handles electrical in house, the electrical code is part of our own work on the job.
Water gets its own review. Stormwater review is part of Development Services, and the Village has a Flood Information Committee. If your lot is low or near a drainage path, ask Development Services what stormwater review your project will need before the drawings are final. Ask what the village's tree rules mean for your lot at the same time. In a village with this name, trees near the house are worth settling before the footprint is.
Lisle is also home to the Pioneer Village Museum at Lisle Station Park. On the paperwork, we coordinate permits and line the plans up with what the village asks for. We work from your plans or with your architect and designer. See custom homes and upscale remodeling. Our subcontractors average ten years with us.
